MAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR KS 32-150-2 PUMP DESIGN
- High reliability and cost-effectiveness
- Long service life — average time to major overhaul at least 31,500 hours (when following maintenance rules)
- External tightness and no internal leakage at rotor-stator junctions
- Dynamic stability across the entire operating range
- Stable, continuously decreasing head curve to ensure stable parallel operation
- Proper selection of materials for main components to guarantee required service life
- High degree of standardization
DESIGN FEATURES OF KS 32-150-2 PUMP
- Horizontal layout: provides high vibration resistance, reduces shaft misalignment, and extends component life
- Sectional type: allows changing the head characteristic by reducing the number of impellers without changing the flow rate
- Four-stage pump with single-entry impellers. Special design of the first stage ensures reliable operation at minimal suction conditions. A pre-installed axial wheel is placed before the first-stage impeller to create additional inlet pressure, ensuring cavitation-free operation
- Pump casing consists of suction and discharge covers, with a set of standardized sections and guide apparatus between them. Sections and covers are centered on cylindrical bores and bolted. Suction and discharge covers are cast, with integrated nozzles and support feet. The discharge nozzle is vertical, the suction nozzle horizontal and perpendicular to the pump axis, flange connection. The discharge cover includes a threaded hole to connect the balancing piston chamber with the suction pipeline. Bearing housings and sealing housings are attached to the covers. Thermal expansion along the pump axis is guided by a keyway in the suction cover and a pin hole in the discharge cover
- Rotor is a separate assembly consisting of shaft, impellers, pre-installed wheel, balancing piston, bushings, sealing parts, and fasteners. Impellers, pre-installed wheel, piston, and bushings are fixed on the shaft with keys or nuts. A clearance between the last stage impeller and piston compensates for thermal expansion
- Axial thrust is taken by the balancing piston
- Rotor bearings are external rolling bearings. Drive side: single-row radial roller bearing for radial load; other side: single-row radial ball bearing for radial and residual axial load. Lubrication: grease; cooling: air
- Mechanical seals: gland type with a hydroseal ring supplied with cold condensate under pressure to cool the seal and prevent air ingress. Cooling of the seal box is also performed by cold condensate flowing in the chamber between the seal housing and bushing
- Pump casing is covered with a protective decorative sheet metal cover attached to suction and discharge covers
- Torque transmission from motor to pump is via flexible pin-bushing coupling
MATERIALS OF KS 32-150-2 PUMP (CHT Slovakia s.r.o.)
