Centrifugal feedwater pumps type PE 150 are designed to supply water to stationary steam boilers with absolute steam pressure up to 6.2 MPa (63 kgf/cm²). Feedwater should have a pH of 7–9.2, a temperature not exceeding 438K (165°C), and not contain solid particles.

Pumps are manufactured in climatic version UHL — intended for macroclimatic regions with moderate and cold climates, placement category 4 — operation in rooms (volumes) with artificially controlled climatic conditions according to GOST 15150-69.

APPLICATION OF PE 150-63 FEEDWATER PUMP

This is a special type of booster pump that supplies superheated water to stationary boilers of TPP power units, as well as waste-heat boilers of power plants with combined cycle and steam-power installations with operating pressure up to 6.2 MPa (63 kgf/cm²). Maximum flow 150 m³/h and head – 700 m.

It is also very important to consider that the allowable NPSH for this pump is 5 m. Therefore, when designing the supply system or selecting equipment, this important parameter must be taken into account.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DESIGN OF FEEDWATER PUMPS FOR STEAM BOILERS PE 150-63:

  • high reliability and cost-effectiveness;
  • ensuring free thermal expansion of stator and rotor elements without disturbing their mutual alignment and the alignment of the pump with the drive;
  • external tightness and absence of internal leaks at rotor and stator joints;
  • long service life — 15,000–30,000 hours (if all maintenance rules are followed);
  • protection against backflow of feedwater;
  • dynamic stability across the full range of operating modes;
  • stable continuously declining head characteristic;

The PE 150-63 feedwater pump belongs to hydraulic machines with relatively low power. The nominal power of the drive used with it should be within 500 kW, equivalent to an electric motor.

In domestic and foreign energy, turbine drives are predominantly used for powerful feedwater pumps (N>8,000 kW), providing a range of operational advantages. Such pumps are mainly used in power units with capacity of 300 MW and above. In power units up to 200 MW, feedwater pumps with electric drive are most widely used.

The drive for the PE 150-63 feedwater pump is most often an electric drive in the form of an asynchronous motor controlled by a frequency converter. Nominal pump speed – 2980 rpm. Overall system efficiency (COP) – 71%.

  • Hydraulic Thrust Bearing: Axial force of the pump unit is unloaded using a hydraulic thrust bearing — a universal, coordinated mechanism. It effectively compensates axial force evenly and reliably across all operating conditions.
